Senior Procurement Specialist 

based in St. Louis

Your responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Develop sourcing strategies, identify and qualify suppliers, and analyze markets, costs and supply risks.
  • Supplier Management & Negotiation: Build and manage strategic supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms and lead times, and resolve commercial and delivery issues.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and drive cost-saving and cost-avoidance initiatives while contributing to overall procurement efficiency.
  • Supply Continuity & Inventory: Ensure reliable material availability for production, manage supply risks and support inventory and safety-stock optimization.
  • CAPEX, MRO & Technical Procurement: Lead procurement for equipment, CAPEX projects, MRO and technical services, including commercial and warranty negotiations.
  • Procurement Operations & ERP: Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders and ensure accurate procurement data in SAP/ERP.
  • KPIs & Compliance: Monitor key procurement KPIs, support inbound logistics and ensure compliance with procurement policies and Group Purchasing strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Production, Maintenance, Quality, Finance and Engineering to improve procurement processes and support business decisions.

Your profile

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field, with at least 5 years of procurement, purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Procurement Expertise: Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain economics, cost drivers and total cost of ownership, combined with a strong commercial mindset.
  • Supplier & Commercial Management: Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, cost optimization and supplier performance management, including supply risk mitigation.
  • Manufacturing & Technical Understanding: Good understanding of manufacturing processes and technical product specifications, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective sourcing strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally, challenge requirements constructively and build alignment across Operations, Quality, Finance and Engineering.
  • Systems: Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP, and strong Excel skills.
  • Languages: Fluent English is required. Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in plastics, recycling, packaging, automotive or other industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with CAPEX and technical procurement.
  • Experience working with Asian and European supplier markets.
